Kyneton is spoiled with a wealth of freshwater fishing opportunities, with the Upper Coliban Reservoir 10 minutes away, the Malmsbury Reservoir 9 minutes away and Lauriston Reservoir only 8 minutes away.
These Reservoirs are well-stocked with Trout, Yellow Belly, Red Fin and Macquarie Perch.
If you’re not into fishing these beautiful Reservoirs allow for kayaks, canoes and fantastic picnic spots.
Kyneton offers a lovely 18-hole golf course, a beautiful botanical gardens dating back to 1858 and scenic walking trails such as the Campaspe river walk and bush walking at black hill reserve.
At just a 20-minute drive, lucky residents of Kyneton can visit two amazing natural waterfalls. North of Kyneton sits Turpin falls, basalt cliffs formed by ancient lava flow crafted a beautiful 18-meter waterfall set amongst Australian native bushland.
South-west of Kyneton is Trentham falls, arguably the most spectacular waterfall in Central Victoria. Boasting an impressive height of 32 meters and a ravine several hundred metres long, this is a must see for anyone who has yet to experience this natural beauty.
The reserve also contains picnic tables and fire pits that are perfect for a relaxed family BBQ.
